I am THRILLED to announce that we have a brand new website for you to peruse. Chris Steingart from QT Web Designs has created the most amazing “new look” for Pretty Cakes, which will make it so much more convenient for everyone to navigate and see all of the amazing cakes I have made over the past 3 years!
Please have a look around and tell me what you think!
In the beginning, we felt it was best to have a website that was primarily a blog. This was due mostly to the fact that I didn’t have enough cakes in my gallery to showcase everything with a simple site. As time moved on and I have made cake after cupcake after cookie etc… I found that blogging was taking a backseat, mostly because I was spending my day decorating! Yay me! This is evident by the fact that the last blog entry was in the summer lol!
Pretty Cakes will celebrate it’s 4th anniversary in May and I am so happy to be able to organize my journey for you with this beautiful new site. A few bits of organization still need to be done though.
For example… SEO work is paramount so that everyone can find me on Google etc. I also think I should create a gallery for my “older cakes” where you can still see my early cakes although it is evident that they don’t represent my skill level now! I think I should remove some of the really blurry pictures also. Neither the beginning cakes nor the blurry pictures represent ME as a cake artist very well… see below!
Blurry picture of Royal icing lilies made in my Wilton Method course #2 at Bulk Barn in Kitchener 2013… compared to the hand painted clear picture of a “Fish on a Plaque” cake that I made much more recently in my BOH approved Pretty Cakes kitchen! (ok I can see your point Chris and Christine)
I will still blog about certain cakes and events but now you will not have to wait for the blog entry to see the Pretty Cakes… just look in the many galleries instead!
I am very excited about the new avenues that will open for me with this new look.
P.S. Stay tuned to hear about the possibilities of a YouTube channel
